Pioneer Day Weekend

Our last little "hoorah" in Utah this summer was our Pioneer Day weekend. Mom and Dad drove down Thursday night and stayed at our house. We had such a great time together, I wanted to enjoy every moment because I knew that when we were in Illinois trips like these would probably not be possible. It was a perfect summer weekend and a great way to take break from packing and moving.

Friday we had a consultation with Kerri's photographer and then went dress shopping. She bought the first dress she tried on and looked absolutely beautiful in it. I can't wait to see her on her wedding day. That afternoon we drove up to Collette's ranch up by Park City and spent the evening up there with my grandparents, Kristine and her kids, Jonathan and Collette, and Kerri and Chris. It was so gorgeous. We had a potluck dinner, went horseback riding, played in some games in the yard, and then had a bonfire and lit fireworks later that night.

Saturday we were going to try and go to the parade but it was early and we didn't get home until late Friday night. Instead, we did some more shopping for Kerri's wedding while the boys went golfing and hit our usual stores. We grabbed Kneader's desserts on the way home that night and just sat out in our yard and ate them while we watched the neighborhood fireworks. Kerri and Chris came up for a little while and we just hung out. It was once again, a perfect summer evening. It was sad to see everyone leave, we made some great memories in Cedar Hills and I will miss being so close to everyone but I know we have a grand adventure waiting for us in Illinois.
